How to Use

Build the practice track your voice needs today.

HIM Scale Builder creates piano-reference vocal exercises from the settings you choose. Pick the exercise, anchor range, Scale Direction, speed, and metronome, preview it, and use Full Access to download that exact track.

Free Demo and Full Access

The Free Demo lets you preview playback in the C3-C4 selected anchor range. Full Access unlocks the full C1-C6 selectable anchor range and downloadable MP3 tracks.

To activate a Gumroad license, open the app, choose Already purchased? Activate license, paste your license key, and submit it. A new browser or device may need the key entered again.

Choose the exercise

Exercise

Select the pattern you want to train, such as Pentachord, AH-gility, or Do Re Mis for Days.

Mode

Major and Minor choose the variant of exercises that support both. Some custom exercises use fixed intervals.

Scale Direction

Scale Direction controls whether the notes inside each phrase are Rising or Falling.

Lower Anchor and Higher Anchor

These set the selected phrase anchors. An exercise can still sound notes above or below those endpoint labels.

Shape the track

Play Upward Sweep moves complete exercise phrases upward by half step through the selected anchor range. Play Downward Sweep moves complete exercise phrases downward through the corresponding anchor range. Sweep Direction is separate from Scale Direction.

Downward Sweep Offset shifts the Downward Sweep anchor range when the selected range allows it. If the offset would push phrase anchors outside the allowed range, the app limits it and shows a notice.

Speed changes tempo, not pitch. The Metronome toggle adds click support to both playback and the saved track. The piano roll highlights the current pitch class during playback so you can see what is sounding.

Playback and downloads

During playback, configuration controls are hidden so the captured audio matches the settings that started the session. Pause and Resume are for practice flow; Stop fully stops the session.

Natural completion creates a complete MP3 when capture is available. Pressing Stop creates a partial MP3 when enough audio has been captured. Changing the configuration invalidates an older prepared download for the previous settings.

Completed Library

Full Access adds a completed track after a full exercise finishes naturally. Open Completed, choose Easy, Medium, or Hard, then download the stored MP3 directly or delete that saved configuration. Clear Completed Tracks removes every track from this browser after confirmation.

Completed tracks are local to this browser and device and do not sync. Clearing site data removes them, and private or incognito browsing may not keep them. Storage protection and approximate usage information appear when the browser supports them, but no browser can promise permanent retention. If local storage is unavailable, Build, playback, and an eligible current-session download continue to work.

The zero-pain rule

Pain is not progress. Stop immediately if anything hurts. HIM Scale Builder is an educational practice tool, not medical diagnosis, medical treatment, or a substitute for appropriate care. Read the Educational and Safety Disclaimer before training.
